The classic flared lehenga skirt will never go out of style, but in 2023 more creative cuts, like the ones we’ve covered below, will take centre stage. The choli, the dupatta, and other components of the lehenga ensemble all seem to be veering slightly away from tradition. It appears that 2023 will be all about experimenting with these components to get distinctive designs in conventional silhouettes.
Monochromatic Lehenga

The monochrome trend, in which the entire lehenga is one colour, is resurfacing. But this year we’ll certainly see a rise in pastel-colored monochromatic lehengas.
Anarkali Lehenga

The Anarkali or Kalidar type lehenga is essentially a lehenga with a long choli that resembles a kurta and has a split along the centre, and occasionally the sides, exposing the lehenga skirt. The cut of this kurta-choli is similar to an anarkali kurta. Such lehengas have recently been more popular on the local wedding fashion scene, and they are soon anticipated to make their way into the aristocratic sector. The flare and mesmerising appearance of the lehenga increase with the amount of kalis (16, 32, or more).
Full Sleeve Lehenga

There will be a lot of avant-garde choli-sleeve styles in 2023! The full-sleeve choli is returning, while it isn’t really experimental and is undoubtedly out of the ordinary. The full-sleeve lehenga silhouette exudes elegance and sophistication in spades. Without sheer materials, decoration, sequin work, embroidery on net, etc., long sleeves are unimaginable. With full sleeves, puffed or dope shoulders also look fantastic.
Sequin Lehenga

In 2023, sequins will return in a big way. For a few years now, matte textures and thread work have surpassed the ‘bling’ appeal of sequins. However, the dazzle and shine will rule the day this year!
Fuchsia Pink

This year, the brilliant Fuchsia pink on the ethnic wedding attire palette is everything. It’s poppy and electrifying. As more and more brides choose vibrant tones of fuchsia pink in non-traditional, stylish, and modern lehenga designs, bridal reds will go out of favour.
Pastels Tones

Pastels have dominated ethnic clothing colour schemes for a while, and it makes sense that they will continue to do so in lehengas worn for weddings. In Indian weddings, pastels work brilliantly to create matte, subdued, subtle, and more modern aesthetic, and millennial women won’t hesitate to forgo the conventional reds and maroons!
Multi-color Juxtaposition

While traditional Bohemian styles are not popular this year for lehengas, the juxtaposition of various patterns and hues will be significant in wedding fashion. Weaving methods or sewing procedures will be used to combine a variety of patterns, textures, and colours. Thus, this year’s lehengas will be dominated by multicolor patterns.
Quirky Dupattas

While wearing Banarasi dupattas with lehengas was fashionable in the recent past, organza, shimmer, and tulle will be the textures of choice in 2023. In both sombre and vivid colours, ruffled appearances, feathered textures, and ornate finishes will become more prevalent in 2023.
Mirror Work Lehenga

Lehengas appear to have a lot of glitter in 2023, whether from sequin, mirror, or a combination of the two! Lehengas with mirror work can have a variety of looks because they can be worn with different textures and prints. Lehengas with mirror work can also be fashioned in a bohemian manner.
Layered & Ruffled Lehenga Skirts

Unconventional and unusual elements in bridal or wedding lehengas will be popular this year. Lehenga skirts with panels and layers are becoming more common, and ruffles’ whimsical elegance only adds to their appeal. Lehengas with layers or ruffles look great with little to no ornamentation!
