Recalling Virushka’s wedding

Anushka Sharma revealed in a Harper’s Bazaar Bride interview three years ago that if she had a destination wedding, it would be “somewhere like a vineyard possibly.” Sharma has made sure that vineyards are a significant part of her wedding ceremony in 2017, as she and Indian star Virat Kohli prepare to tie the knot.

In the early hours of Friday morning, the couple and their separate families flew to Italy. Kohli and Sharma were said to be getting married in Milan, however it does not appear that this is the case. Their wedding will be held in Borgo Finocchieto, a mediaeval villa in Tuscany, just over four hours south of Milan.

In the early hours of Friday, the couple and their separate families flew to Italy. While there was anticipation that Kohli and Sharma would marry in Milan, it appears that this is not the case. Their wedding will take place in a historic house called Borgo Finocchieto in Tuscany, South Italy, slightly over four hours south of Milan.

When India’s most beloved cricketer married Bollywood’s most attractive A-lister, the six-acre Borgo Finocchieto villa came alive with the beats of Indian dhol.

If you’re a fan of Virat Kohli and Anushka Sharma, dubbed ‘Virushka,’ today is the day to start following their tweets, Instagram posts, and Facebook updates religiously! Two years ago, the Bollywood diva and the Indian cricket team captain married in an extravagant wedding ceremony at Borgo Finocchieto, an 800-year-old village-turned-villa that was rebuilt and made into a boutique hotel.

Nuptials in Calming Colors

The colours of the wedding were lavender, gentle pink, and powder blue. The star couple’s wedding ceremony was dominated by pastel flowers, and everything from Anushka’s embroidered soft pink Sabyasachi lehenga to the fresh hydrangeas she wore in her hair came together in a cohesive, seamless aesthetic.

Details of the interior design

The mandap was a stripped-down affair with no fancy decorations, consisting of a canopy of flowers flown in from Holland and fabrics draped around four poles. The canopy’s ceiling was devoid of the traditional garland, flowerbeds, raised dome, or artificial ornaments. Instead, white candles were put within glass lanterns suspended from the ceiling, creating a beautiful and attractive backdrop to the bridal festivities.

Anushka Sharma’s bridal march from the villa to the mandap lasted less than a minute, and the path was decorated with pastel flowers; flowers were also set at regular intervals along each row of the seating. Devika Narain of Devika Narain and Company designed the decor. Narain previously worked on cricketers’ wedding decorations.

The Italian landscape collides with the Indian dhol.

The very calm town in Italy was livened up by spontaneous bhangra beats and Indian dhol sounds. Other powerful people have stayed at the Borgo Finocchieto in the past, including former US President Barack Obama and his wife, Michelle.
