Meeting of two stars

Ranveer Singh & Deepika Padukone

On the sets of Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Goliyon Ki Raasleela Ram-Leela, Ranveer Singh and Deepika Padukone fell in love. After years of courting, the couple married in 2018, and their wedding was nothing short of a fairytale.

Ranveer and Deepika tied the married at Lake Como, Italy, away from the cameras. The couple’s engagement was only known to their parents and sisters four years before their wedding.

We’ve put up a list of everything you need to know about their wedding because there’s so much speculation.

Deepika and Ranveer will tie the knot at the stunning Villa del Balbianello on Lake Como in Italy. At the same location, Mukesh Ambani’s daughter Isha and Anand Piramal got engaged.

Engagement of Deepveer:

At the location, each visitor was personally greeted with a handwritten message. The couple got engaged in a traditional Konkani Phool Muddi ceremony, which takes place a day before the wedding and involves the bride and groom’s families meeting and performing puja and offering prayers to each other.

The awe-inspiring couple took over our Instagram feeds with candid photos from their wedding; captioned with a simple red heart, they struck a chord in the hearts of many!

Konkani style wedding

A photo from their Konkani wedding shows the two sharing a humorous moment (of course, hilarity accompanies our lover boy!). In terms of their outfits, Deepika looked stunning in a golden silk saree, while Ranveer looked dashing in a classic cream sherwani.

Deepika wore a golden wedding saree provided to her by her mother (as is customary) for the Konkani wedding ceremony, which she later gave to Sabyasachi. It was also stated that the saree was purchased at Bengaluru’s Angadi Galleria.

The bride wears a sari gifted to her by her mother, and the red gold sari is a genuine zari Kanjeevaram. The mythological character Gandaberunda (two-headed bird) is depicted on the body design, which is also reflected on the coat of arms of the Mysore Maharaja and, later, Karnataka.

Sindhi style wedding

Our Bollywood Jodi chose red and gold as their wedding colours for the Sindhi wedding. Deepika Padukone wore a stunning red Sabyasachi Lehenga with an embroidered veil bearing an incantation, with the words ‘Sada Saubhagyavati Bhava’ visible on the Devnagri border. The groom complemented her in a Sabyasachi Mukherjee-designed Kanjeevaram sherwani. Ranveer wore strings of huge rubies and a jadau necklace, while the bride wore a maang tikka, traditional kalire, a statement nose ring, and other rings. Their attire emanated royal refinement, with delicate yet expensive jewellery. Sabyasachi teamed with Christian Louboutin to create bespoke juttis for the couple’s wedding day.

This is how a fairy tale love story of  two fabulous actors Deepika and Ranveer accomplished.
