Skincare routine for summers

Reading the forecast makes me sweat. I am sure like me there must be some of you for whom our skin is our prized possession and we make sure it is nourished and protected in every way possible. The only good thing about this pandemic and the upcoming lockdown is that we do not have to face the soul-sucking heat. I assume many of you must have already bought those expensive products and skin supplements, which is absolutely alright! But we are here to help you follow a skin routine for this summer. Trust me you will thank me.

Summer seasons are the worst, ugh! It can bring so many challenges to our skin. The burning sun and the heat caused by it can damage our skin’s glow and softness. For a few of my peers summers make their skin oiler and itchy. To protect and nourish it during such time we have come up with a guide which we are sure you would surely love.

  1. Wash your face at least twice a day

There are two things I think of when I think of summers. Sweat and skin issues. Oh! how can I forget Mangoes. Back to the point, while heat produces excess oil from the skin, sweat makes it worse and irritable. This is usually how acne problems began.

to avoid these pimple problems you should wash your face at least twice a day. Once in the morning after waking up and once at night before sleeping. This will help your skin breathe and keep it moisturised.

2. Moisturize it daily

Moisturize irrespective of the season but in summers applying too many products and adding sweat to it can create a very oily face and would be too much for the skin.

Either your pores might get clogged or you might have acne. So, use a lightweight moisturizer with an SPF of 30 or more, which will not only keep your skin protected but also keep your skin moisturized without any damage.

3. Drink a lot of water

In summers there is no such thing as too much water. Your mom must be asking you to drink water 10 times a day, it is time to actually listen to her. Before you read any further, get up and drink water.

You must be spending thousands of rupees on skincare but forgetting the most basic yet important one, Water. Not only does it flush out all the toxins from your body, but it also keeps your skin radiant and soft.

4. Eat cooling foods

So there are foods that make you feel cool or give you a sensation of warmth. As we all know what we eat has a lot to do with how we feel. Eating heavy and oily food can make you feel lazy and will make your skin uncomfortable.

This would be an invitation to oily skin and skin breakouts. Always remember to stay away from sugar. Always go for fruits and vegetables. Drink a lot of water, try coconut water and vegetable juices for a boost of energy.
