Even though her modest wedding was six months ago, Bollywood actress Yami Gautam still exudes that glowing loved-up bride vibe.

Gautam — who was dressed in peach athleisure — told Gulf News that life has been ‘zooming at rapid pace’ with her endlessly adoring husband, director Aditya Dhar, by her side on a closed-door set of a film shoot in Dubai.

In a sit-down interview, Gautam remarked, “Getting married is one of the best decisions we’ve ever made.” She enjoys the prospect of coming home to her new family and recalls being heartbroken when her parents and siblings departed from Mumbai after a brief visit, leaving her alone.

Gautam released a few gorgeous wedding photos in June of last year, recording their wedding ceremony in her birthplace of Himachal Pradesh, North India, which was attended by select family members. It was a pleasant surprise for both her admirers and peers.

“I didn’t even realise it had been six months since my wedding because I’ve been jumping from one set to another and from one place to another… Aditya recently enquired about it. How my life has changed since our marriage, despite the fact that he rarely sees me,” Gautam chuckled. ‘Dasvi,’ ‘OMG2,’ and ‘Lost’ are just a few of the projects she’s working on.

Gautam and Dhar collaborated on the National Award-winning Indian feature ‘Uri: The Surgical Strike,’ and according to Bollywood legend, the two struck it off during the film’s promotion. Both have different temperaments, but their value systems are compatible, which is what drew them together, according to Gautam.

“We live in a time when being an actor and a director necessitates a set of skills. However, you soon realise that you might have a variety of interests and hobbies. However, your essential ethical ideals must be compatible… “Aditya and I really believe in our families and their importance, even if I don’t believe in the ‘opposites attract’ hypothesis for couples,” Gautam remarked.

Aditya Dhar’s ‘Uri: The Surgical Strike’ stars Yami Gautam.

Gautam is a self-made celebrity who rose through the ranks of Bollywood through her own tenacity and talent, and her better half has a similar narrative to tell.

“One of the things I admire and empathize with about Aditya is how he has navigated his own journey, problems, and hurdles… But he stood firm in his convictions, which is really important to me,” Gautam remarked. While acting as a career is her ultimate goal, she does not believe it is the be-all and end-all of her existence.

Yami’s battle to stay relevant:

""

Gautam has worked hard to stay current and in the public’s collective consciousness since her stunning debut in 2012 with ‘Vicky Donor,’ a dramedy directed by Shoojit Sircar and starring an on-point Ayushmann Khurrana. She was fantastic as an appealing young wife who is bewildered to discover of her husband’s lucrative but covert sperm donation side business while battling with infertility in her own marriage. . Gautam is known for portraying that part with grace, tenderness, and a great deal of inner power, but her future films were not as remarkable.

“In this field, people’s perceptions of you change every Friday. “Every Friday, your friendship changes, and everything about your career is reliant on that Friday,” Gautam remarked, referring to the day of the week when a Hindi film is released in Indian theatres. The box office response of an actor’s film releases on Fridays determines whether or not his or her stock rises or falls within the industry and outside of it.

""

“All of a sudden, everything changed.” The flicks ‘Bala’ and ‘Uri’ rejuvenated me creatively the year they were released… That’s exactly what I want to be after my first film. However, there is a part of the journey where your experiences don’t matter. That’s how it’s going to turn out… I’ve been in movies when both my heart and mind weren’t fully invested, and I knew it wasn’t working for me! “However, I went ahead,” Gautam explained.

Unlike the affluent actresses and star offspring who now abound in Bollywood, Gautam has always relied on her abilities rather than her connections to advance in her career.
